Mystery spring

My wife just picked this up on the floor behind our Van (2022 Ocean) - trying to work out if it’s off our Van, and if so what it’s from.

Headphones for scale, feels far too light to be serious engine/mechanical piece, so if anything perhaps from a cupboard or something. Or just a random thing someone else has lost.

I think this is from under the board at the back - it stopped the mechanism from popping out when you raise it.

I know nothing about cars and motors. But when I do a reverse image search I end up with several results of springs similair to these used in vehicles, amongst others things connected to the carburator and connected to the gas pedal, etc.

Has the van recently been to the dealer? Perhaps they dropped it by accident. If so, would be wise to ask them if they've been doing any work on parts where a spring like this is supposed to be.

Might be a spare they had in their pocket or might be a part of your van. But perhaps it's of a folding chair or some stuff you had in the van. They also seem to be used in washing machines.

When the rain stops, will move everything round and have a look - makes sense, as we’ve been raising and lowering the bed board whilst here.

Where abouts should it be attached - near the centre strap?

Thank you - just been looking at that and other links - I think it’s similar, but not this part - also from pictures others have posted, it would be muckier from the road, plus possibly have other parts still attached.
