New Year on Dartmoor

Just returned from overnight on Dartmoor. Very wet but dry at night. Warm welcome at the Plume of Feathers in Princetown.

Love that pub always welcoming and the fire is almost always lit. Great ale and good food too.

Yes large park - you have to pay. Can also book cooked breakfast.

Yes you can Jon, they have a toilet block with showers , there are also some nice walks right from the pub car park.

They also do a good Sunday roast..

Thanks. Looks nice, 20 quid for the three of us.
I am still in a wild camping phase, and it is only a quick break, so we won't need facilities. I will probably put the money towards a meal at the pub in hexworthy

It's one of the only pubs I know that has a dog menu too.
Lots of history around there too. Plenty to look at.

I love it, a proper moor country pub. Very horsey.
We used to be posted to combstone Tor during Ten Tours when my wife was in the Dartmoor Rescue Group, and we would drop down for refreshment .

Never camped on Dartmoor, only Exmoor, but it is great to be out in the middle of nowhere, so peaceful.
