We can’t get away in September for a decent length of time for various reasons! So we’ve decided we’d like to go to either southern France or Spain from the beginning of October for about two to three weeks.
We’ve spent a frustrating afternoon trying to find campsites which appeal and are still open in October. We like small(ish) campsites with scenery and good shower facilities and electric hookup. Not those sites with huge pools and entertainment! We’d like to base ourselves in an area with food, walks and nice townsto visit. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

We are off to St Remy de Provence in October. Expected temperature around 22 degrees.
Last day on site is the 22nd October.
The site we are going to is
CAMPING PEGOMAS
Which is just on the edge of St Remy centre.
Van Gogh stayed here when he was ill.
Lavender fields near by.
It's worth you looking to what is there and the surrounding areas. We haven't camped here before, but we were here in June we had such a lovely time we thought the only thing that could improve it was to take our California and dog with us.

La Viorna in northern Spain, near Potes, in the Picos, is open in October. It’s in a beautiful location and views, walks all around, and you can walk into Potes. There’s a pool though it might not be open late in the season. Nice facilities. If you get an ACSI card you get a good discount.
I think sites will be quieter at that time of year, even the larger ones.
Fab time of year to go, have a great trip.

Thanks Kimmy and AJQ. I’ll have a look at both of those suggestions. Always nice to have personal recommendations of places that are known to be nice by members here.
