Picked her up last week.

DSG 4 motion,

Our 1st Cali having had many caravans and a Burstner coach built MH up until recently.

Looks superb, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Very nice. I've got a silver one coming. Loving the plate.

Thanks, & that's only 1/2 the plate ;)
I've had it for many years on many 4wd's. Anyone round this neck of the woods would be able to fill in the blank bit.

Very nice indeed! Sounds very "fully loaded" to me!

Had a cracking time by the beach in ours today. Made coffee after a surf (with heater on full blast), made the kids some food, had a (very small) beer, came back.

They make the usually rather damp, cold and sometimes slightly tricky beach missions a pure joy! Oh and it coped well with some rather deep sand that's built up on the road to the beach.

Hi

Very nice sounds like your enjoying the cali all ready witch tracker did you go for.

CobraTrak5 (with web app subscription).
Thought "what the hell" may as well have the 'best'. There are a lot cheaper, but Comfort only recognise Cat 5 ones & VW/Audi use Cobra as their own.

It's a future proofin thing for years to come for me, as shouldn't run into warranty issues as it's veebub's 1st choice, & Cat 5 is as good as it gets for the insurers.
I didn't want to spend £3-400 now then have to do it again in a couple of years.

Hi Micky blue

I've just bought a 140 with all the bits(sept 2011)Silver Reflex, brand new but off the showroom floor, best impulse buy ever, awesome, how did you manage to change the colour of the awning, really makes a difference.

Cheers

Kev

I have seen another wrapped awning cover. Guy had a white van, saw my black awning cover and went and got his silver changed to black. Looked really good.

A silver awning is in the brochure for about £130 more than the black one. Definitely suits certain colours better.

Correct & when we ordered, for whatever reason we missed it, and our salesman forgot it too, which was a bummer as our order went confirmed before we spotted it a couple of weeks later to everybody's surprise. So we had no chance to amend it.

This was the only other way around it we could come up with, unless we swapped it for a silver one + great expense.

Personally I think it looks good with the contrasting black end caps, and the black awning rails, as the silver factory awning also gets silver rails which makes 'everything silver', which I think is a bit OTT.

Yep - it does look good. A bit more integrated than the black one. I wonder if you can get a natural grey wrap too...? ;)

You pushed the boat out on the spec. A dream machine you have there

Hi Mickey Blue
Checked the company out for doing the wrap, closest one to me is 60 miles away - if it's not too cheeky could you tell me the cost of it and did you have to leave all day, thought I'd finished buying all the bits and pieces, but really fancy the wrapping the awning silver.

cheers

Kevin

Any pics of your seats? I do like leather but our seats will have covers on them at all times. Already saved a wet seat when the baby pulled over a can of drink!! Phew!

TBH I linked to the 3M site as it was their vinyl, but not one of 'their fitters'.

It was done by PDA in Harrogate who also did the ICE install at the same time, so could not say exactly how long it took.

I would expect 1/2 -1 day.

The vinyl when I priced it up to do it myself was going to be £100+vat to buy as it needed to be a wide sheet with a minimum roll length, so ended up paying £250 for a pro to do it as I hadn't got the time. Expensive mistake it turned out to be, but I actually like the way it looks ;)

They are the factory leather/alcantara option which is as per the brochure. Leather bolsters (sides) Alcantara (suede) middle.

Haven't taken any pics, but will have a look in daylight for you.

I looked at a Samoa red one with those seats in grey but the Natural Grey had the Satnav and a couple of other bits which pipped it for us. They are nice though - alcantara feels lovely.

There's a rather flashy looking full leather option in the brochure - looks black with white stitching. Pricey option but I imagine it's rather nice!

I haven't got DSG, electric door, lane assist thingy or a tow bar but think we have most other stuff. Oh dear...

I seem to recall that VW's 'full leather' option from the brochure is dealer fit 'covers', so even the sales guy we dealt with said they got a local specialist to do it

DSG-check
Leccy door-check (actually really useful as works off the remote, not just a good toy to play with)
Lane change assist -Nope
Tow bar-check

No Vis pack B either as the internal rear view mirror is pretty useless with the bike rack, & I hate the auto rain sensing wipers. I had them on 3 previous cars as they were std (VW LRover & RRover) and found I prefer the old fashioned intermittent.

Had auto wipers on a mk4 Golf R32 - good, a Vx Astra (!) - cack, our current BMW 335d - good.

They seem to work well on the Cali as you can adjust the sensitivity like on the BM. Didn't have them on our recently sold Defender and it drove me nuts - they were VERY basic wipers as you can imagine!!

We currently get slight scraping without a tow bar (very sharp transition on driveway) if we don't take it just right. A tow bar might just write off the rear of the van! Had the Defender partly to tow our boat and used it... twice. Luckily we have access to several 4x4s so can borrow them for boat launching (usually twice a year - once on the pontoon mooring, it stays there until Octoberish). Apart from that, we don't need a tow bar and it saves us having to "rescue" daft motorists like we had to a couple of times in the Defender (me, selfish?!!)

DSG - wasn't keen but I understand why many favour it.

Electric doors - sound good, think we can survive without them.

Lane change assist - getting a bit too mollycoddling for me. T5.1 mirrors are HUGE enough to spot anything.

That leather sounds a bit full on - would love to see one with it though!

You have a very nice van there Micky.
