Parking at ferry port/euro tunnel

Check out the Drum Inn at Stanford. Five minutes from the tunnel. We've used it a number of times.

Also when you wake up in the morning you can have all you can eat breakfast at travel in like we did last year

At Christmas I travelled by Eurotunnel but stayed on Calais side in Aire on Cite shopping complex. Bit noisy as it is next to trains but plenty of space. There and back arrived at the Aire about midnight. Advantage is that I can travel after work on Friday, cross the channel and then get early start on French motorways.

You probably are aware but the French motorway service areas have been closed around Calais.

Also when last over there in February there wasn't much difference in Diesel prices compared to UK. The falling Sterling/Euro rate being the reason. Supermarket prices, 1.30 Euros Motorway more expensive.

Not mega close (about 40min), but a good overnight stop is the Pilot Inn at Dungeness. V good fish and chips.

We stayed at the Folkeston C&CC site. They accept one night stays, the site was peaceful and quiet and the view is nice over the channel.

Anyone have similar recommendations for Portsmouth? Getting the earlyish ferry to Santander in June and would like to just wake up and roll on.
