Hi all!
So I’m planning a few nights away in the Peak District end of march…
First time there, any recommendations on campsites and must see places to visit would be much appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Peaks are made up of north and south. Both beautiful, hillier in the north.

Hartington is a nice village in the south, two good campsites to the west. Opportunities of good easy walks south down Dovedale valley and up to Thor’s Cave in the Manifold Valley near Wetton.
Great pub in the village.

In the North, most people gather around Hope Valley and Hathersage. Great walks along all of the edges up there. If you’re a climber there are famed routes along the Stanage edge.

Nearby there are other great walks for example Mam Tor loop, this ends at a Blue John mine Which features a sub terrain canal boat ride.

Both different, both stunning.

Thankyou both for your replies. Laneside campsite looks great and ideal for me.
Would that be a good base or would you recommend me doing a couple nights there and then a couple nights on a site in the south?

As mentioned above hartington is nice in the south also hulme end is good for walks to thors cave and the manifold trail also the tissington trail is great for biking all close by i would do a couple of nights at each.

Hey

We’re booked into Dale farm in May and whilst we haven’t been there yet, it’s looks idyllic.

Hi,
Newfold Farm in Edale - Edale has a couple of pubs, lots of little cafes. The site itself has a very good restaurant. If you like walking, then you'll be able to take your pick - Kinder, Mam Tor. You can walk to Castleton - nice 6 mile circular depending on which hill you decide to climb!
Hartington as mentioned above.
If you want to be nearer to civilisation and not remote, look in around Buxton.
Hathersage area as also mentioned.
Hope-Castleton-Hartington-Hathersage - can get busy at the weekends.

Enjoy!

Buxton is a great town, excellent live music scene.

Walks starting around Buxton however are underwhelming compared to the beauty of other areas.

Laneside is a great location a bit close to a busy road that gets lots of bikers… best bit for me was the social area with a food truck and a bar in a trailer (very pleasant as I was a solo traveler with a dog). My favourite campsite in the area is Beech Croft Farm for the friendly cafe and lovely views from the top field.
