Back from 2 weeks in Cornwall.
Stayed at 2 great sites, both around Polzeath.
Packed the van to bursting with 2 SUPs, surfboards and bodyboards.
Southwinds, as the name suggests is quite breezy. We detached the awning on one day when it really blew up. Great views and a 15 min walk to the beach. Toilets open all the time and showers open in 3 hour blocks in the morning and evening.
Tristram is right on the beach. Amazing views of the surf. The pitch we had would have been with the tents if they were allowed, so view and space was enhanced. Do feel sorry for tent campers as most sites we tried weren’t allowing tents. Toilets and showers open for 3/2.5 hour block in morning and evening.
Were strict on all rules which is fine by me. No toilet tents, awnings had to be attached to vans and had to be nose or tail into the pitch (ie not side on).
Amazing walks, sunsets and surf. Drove away a few times which was a first for us and reconnecting fun with the awning.
Also needed to buy levelling chocks from the site shop which was a fun puzzle.
Would definitely recommend both. Preferred Tristram due to location and views. Great to hear the surf at night.
