Portland Bill car park

Hi all
With our first major trip to Weymouth and surrounding area in Ellie next week we've been looking at Cali parking in Dorset and seeing the restrictions in Swanage wondered if there were any similar restrictions on Portland Bill? (Ideally we'd be at the Bill for at least a few hours while we sample the delights of the Lobster Pot...)
Any advice would therefore be welcome and greatly received. Thanks in advance, Debs and Cliff

We have parked in the adjacent car park along with many other vans etc no problem. In Weymouth we parked at Cosens Quay car park, small, good location, very central but had a few large Cali size spaces. Wardens we spoke to were very friendly, as long as you had a ticket no problems. The Nothe is a large long stay car park in a park next to Nothe Fort, recommended for a Cali picnic etc. good views over to Portland etc. If you want any more tips re the area just ask as we have been there twice in the Cali. :thumb

Was down that way a few weekends ago. Can't help with the Portland bill question (but looks like you have the answer now anyway!) but can confirm that the lovely town of Lyme Regis has motorhome only parking in their car park and just £2 all day. Well worth the trip down the road!

Thanks for the replies. WelshGas - yes we'd spotted that site and noticed that the motorhome icon was missing... so we thought that campervans maybe excluded as well. Good to hear that there's adequate parking up there. Larrylamb - that's a great bit of advice... we'll check them out. We're not unfamiliar with the area but it will be the first time in a Cali (but thanks for the offer). Georgiegirl - yes, we'd quite like to include Lime Regis as well as West Bay (for the Broadchurch experience!)
Hopefully we'll have some nice weather and perhaps some pictures of Ellie's first trip to the seaside... Watch this space!
