Puncture holes in awning

I noticed a small punctiform hole in our awning (the one that is permanently attached to the Cali). On top of the awning there were soms small sharp branches of a tree.
Do you think I van fix this with "Tear Aid"? Do you routinely clean the roof of the awning before rolling it? How do you manage since it is too high to touch?

We don't use the awning much but indeed before rolling it in it's best to check for debrid on it , specially when standing under trees .
Think this can be fixed , some kind of rubber-boat repair or sortlike ?

If to high to reach just lower the two poles to reach on to top of the awning
