Questions around drive away awning for 6.1

Well, I’ve tried the drill-in pegs, and in my opinion they’re useless. They just wobble around and in your not carful they twist the tent loop and canvas up, wrapping round the still chuck. I ended up hamming a couple in, and then went back to normal pegs. A waste of £20.

I used both in a storm in the Lakes earlier in the year (screw in & smooth hammer in hard ground pegs) IME the smooth ones just pulled out in the wind, the screw one stayed in.

In fact ours was one of the few awnings & tents that stayed standing on the site when most blew down that night.

I think a lot depends on the ground & how they are used.

P.S. you can also hammer the blue diamond screw ones in so I wouldn’t say you’d wasted £20
