Does anybody know of a trick for an intermediate position to recline the rear bench seat? There is bolt upright, slightly less than bolt upright and flat bed position. Maybe I'm after too much but a position around 45degs or so would be great for the kids.

Readying for a long trip and some late night miles would really help us make ground. Kids don't sleep well sitting up and I'm a bit nervous about driving with them flat out....

Can you not create an incline with cushions and pillows?

You cannot drive with them flat as that would be dangerous and technically illegal as they won't have seat belts on.

Pull on the loop that is used to recline the bench to the fully flat position and there is an intermediate position that is about 20-30 degrees. Hope that helps, makes it more comfortable when sitting around.

When I was a nipper, night trips on holiday to Devon would be spent flat out in a makeshift bed in a Vauxhall Viva estate. You could stand up between the front seats too, those days are long gone. Fond memories.
