Recommendations for one night stay in the Italian Lakes in August

Hi There on a way back from Venice to Switzerland and would like to stay at one of the Lakes for a night. Any reccoemndations greatly received as I know its difficult to stop for one night only this time of year. We are family of 4 with two teenagers

We choose the Simplon pass when we can: an exceptional quiet and scenic drive. We like to stop for a myrtle tart and coffee/tea at:

It is at an high point, the air is always crisp, food is expensive but awfully good.
