I know this subject has been raised now and agian but I have not come across a solution.

I have a remote electric side door, which, when it works it's great. When it doesn't it's a real pain in the neck. Is the only option, to cut the cables and make it manual? One benefit of manual though is that you can have the door ajar, half open etc.

Thank you, in advance.

Can you not switch to Manual mode , more difficult to move than if wires are cut, and leave 1/2 open?

Sorry for late response.

Yes I can switch to manual, but it is very heavy and hard to 'slam' closed.

I copied a post a couple of years ago on how to make an electric door manual. I may do that, come the summer. Although most of the problems occur in the winter, so may the cold has something to do with it.
