Has anyone replaced the dash cigarette lighter on a T5.1 with one of these?

The diameter looks about right, but I haven't yet investigated how easy it would be to remove the dash tray, establish how much clearance there is underneath, and extract the cigarette lighter. I suppose replacing the one by the cup holder is the other option, although might be a bit tight on clearance as the drawer slides back in.

I’m afraid I haven’t tried what you’re doing. Why aren’t you going down the adapter route?

I think those usbs take a constant draw from the battery, so
might not be a good idea.

Be careful. On my 2014 SE the cigarette lighter socket is not Ignition controlled so a permanently on USB socket will drain the Engine Battery over time.
