Reverse polarity

I am joining a friend in southern Spain and she has advised that I may need a lead to reverse polarity - 3 pin plug to 3 pin. Has anyone come across this before and where exactly would this go? Sorry if I appear a bit thick on this one!

You will need a polarity checker as well to check if in fact it is reversed. This should also check if the earth is OK which is more important.
