Finally got around to replacing my bendy reading lamp with something more suitable for the kids gadgets

Who needs a reading light when you have a phone, dsi, tablets its like the Blackpool illuminations. Up there :laugh2

I wondered what you had put up there when I saw your bendy light up for sale a nice upgrade

Cheers I like it. I believe you can buy a flexible map reading light with a cigarette plug on the end :thumb

I've just broken my bendy light and purchased a new one from VW. Only problem is I cannot find out which fuse to remove while replacing the light. The local VW dealer has told me fuse 18 under left passenger seat, but as I don't have a fuse map I cannot find which is holder 18 and the dealer will not tell me. Which fuse did you remove while fitting your excellent mod?

It was the 10 amp bottom left of the picture
The red one

Many thanks Calikev.

I'll go and check under my seat and see if its the same.

Just completed my new light fitting

The fuses under my left seat were mounted the other way round from the picture, but the picture made it so easy to identify which fuse I needed to remove.

Many thanks Calikev, you're remarkably quick reply post has
saved me another £40 to VW!

Huh!

I changed my roof light within a few hours of picking up my Cali :crazy

I accidentally pulled it off

Same happened to me today.

Only had the cali a month, me and my daughter were unwrapping the roof mattress ready for first trip. I watched her moving the light arm gently and it literally came off in her hand.

The flexible arm was only seated in the plastic ~5mm. As I needed it fixed and its a bank holiday, I cut the wires on the lamp side of the connector block and took the plastic moulding into the workshop. I then properly drilled it out and wound the arm in the full length, aroind 20mm. Reassembled with bullet crimps to make future replacement easier
