Does anyone have experience with the rubber mats from VW? I see two options from WV:

Plus a bunch of other after market ones. Recommendations? The Cali gets used as a surf van, a number of ski trips, and general wet/sandy NW Danish conditions.

Having worked at an OEM and seen the testing on something as basic as a mat I always use OEM. Anything else is built based on cost not quality and performance. Usually.

I bought the three piece OE set for our 6.1 Cali when we got the vehicle back in March 2023.

The quality is really good and the set fits perfectly. I am very pleased with the mats.

I purchased genuine front mats, I found over time with removing to clean they split along the sections that extended on the foot rest driver side and the projection over the door step on the passenger side. Perhaps I was just too keen in cleaning them?

No,

I'm on rubber mat set 3 at 10.5yr and will be going to set 4 shortly..... this last set has lasted much longer than the previous 2, to the point I cant remember. But lets say 3 / 3 and 4.5yrs....usage has been consistent throughout the period.....like all things, they have a life span

I have the OEM ones as they came with the van. Van is 3 years old now and they are still like new. I wish however I had the ones with the rubber going over the central hump, but it seems you cant buy the centre one separately, only as part of a set.

Same here. Mistake not ordering the 3 mat set when I sped'ed the van. The OEM passenger and driver side mats are excellent.

I like the 3 part OEM set. From past VW experience on other OEM mats these can wear after a few years, so to be sure I kept an eye out on the forum and managed to buy a second set S/H but like new for £50 (I have seen here for even less since).

The other advantage of having a second set is that I can wash one set whilst putting the others back.
