Rubber where from?

So I've found this piece of rubber between the roof when open, right at the rear tailgate and cannot see where it comes from, thoughts?

It was literally just sat between the open roof and the bodywork!!

Must a lost piece of the rubber between the Brandrup rail and the awning ...
Very clumsy of VW that it' s there...lucky (do check) it did no damage to the roof!

No damage to the roof, I also had a smaller rubber bung within the roof, round with a nipple, again can't find for the life of me where that came from either!!

That is a piece of rubber awning weather strip not sure why it is a small piece like that it should fit in between the 2 awning roof brackets to stop you getting wet when opening the sliding door
