Hi, I've just purchased a SafeFill 10Kg for the GC, and had an idea!
What if I fitted a GasStop to the SafeFill as an added safety measure, easy to check for leaks and has Rupture Protection built in. Then I could do away with the HRP pigtail and fit a hand tighten pigtail. Advantage is, when re-filling the SafeFill no need for spanners, undo the hand tighten pigtail, quick and easy!
I emailed SafeFill to see if I could then fit a "fill adapter" to the GasStop and refill through the GasStop. In other words to find out if the GasStop will allow flow in both directions.
This is the reply I got:
Hi Don,
Thank you for contacting us.
I have had a chat with our engineering team this morning. In theory, you can keep the GasStop installed, as the reverse flow of the propane will keep the EFV open.
Please contact me if you have any issues, we normally recommend filling any cylinders without the GasStop installed to avoid any complications.
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Matthew Howard
So, sounds like it can be done!
