Hi everyone
I am told one of the most effective anti theft device is a lockable box that covers the pedal. Any comments about the plus/ minus of this device please? It's effectiveness And where could I buy one that is specifically made for Californias?
Versus a ghost immobiliser which I am told is also a very effective anti theft device, albeit rather expensive?
Thanks for sharing your experience with me. Philippe

What price peace of mind!!

Being the most expensive vehicle we have owned (Volvo came close) and the fact that the Insurance insisted we had a Tracker we had one fitted, which also has a secondary immobiliser.
Yes they are VERY expensive, and yes you have the ongoing costs - you're looking at over a grand for an install and 5 year plan.
Technically that means the worst should never be able to happen - *touches wood*

However, we also wanted a more visual deterrent so purchased the Milenco steering wheel lock.
Solid as a rock, but has to sit vertically on the steering wheel due to design, but balances against the entry grab handle fine.
Personally I hate the thing, occasionally the key locks up and you end up sitting there for 5 or so minutes twisting, untwisting, removing the key and trying again until it decides to unlock.
Clearly a known issue as the bar even has a label on explaining what to do when it does it.
Not great at £80.00!!

You can get pedal covers - Milenco and similar, but why would you want to stand in the rain putting that on and off?

I had “ghost” fitted pre delivery of new van.

Any extra’s fitted after conflicted with the CANBUS (???)

After delivery VB Air suspension / Conflicted

Tow Bar Electrics / Confilcted

Had to have the “Ghost” removed!

Fitter commented the tow bar electrics would conflict
