Does the SE have this function as normal. I've read the handbook at it seems you switch off ignition. Main beam flash held on for 1 second then open door and exit. Close door and lock and headlights on for a set time. But I cannot seem to get it to work.
Can anyone explain it in simple terms, please?

Hi WelshGas i think it needs to be programmed VAG-COM Diagnostic System

I'd imagine it would be disabled as standard on a camper. It would a real annoyance on a campsite.

Hi

Mine has it. On other cars I've had it seemed to "Come along" with rain sensing wiper / auto lights, which I think is standard on 2014+ Cali's. I also have Xenon's, so it may be part of that package.

Routine for my van is.
- switch off engine.
- ensure lights are in the "Auto" or "Off" position
- flash the headlights (my experience is it doesn't need to be 1 second, just a flash)
- when you open the door the headlights come on

Interestingly (?) I've found that if you close and lock the door, the lights only stay on for maybe 30 seconds. If you leave a door open, they stay on for considerably longer (they still turn off after a while so no chance of flat battery)

I find them really as it help me find my latches etc for closing my gate.

Cheers
Mark

You have to have visibility pack for this feature, which is auto lights and wipers. I didn't know it could be programmed via VCDS, i'll take a look Monday, and let you know

Thank you Oli. In the handbook it doesn't state that you have to have the auto light function. Just switch off ignition, flash headlights then close door.
The Come Along feature, which switches on the headlights with the remote unlock requires the Auto light feature.
