does anyone know of a garage that will do the service on my 1 year old Cali in north derbyshire / peak district, i am near bakewell (as in pudding)

If its only one year old I would be inclined to use a main dealer for a while. Rightly or wrongly resale value seems to be a bit better it has been main dealer serviced.
We live in Matlock and have used the Sheffield delaer for the past six years without any problems.

"Volksvans" near Matlock on A6 south of Matlock, i have heard good reports about them and they repair Calis so i am told
Mark at Volksvans doesn’t do general servicing, he’s a Cali owning auto electrician and brill with lots of Cali jobs but generally powered by elec plus towbars.

I've had pretty good service at JCT600 at Sheffield Tinsley Park for the past 6 years.

They'll even drop you off/pick you up from Meadowhall  if it's going to take a few hours.

If you’re sticking with the main dealer network during the warranty period I’d echo the earlier post re JCT at Sheffield (Tinsley). I’ve had good service from them and they’ll drop you off at Meadowhall to shop while you wait if you ask nicely.

If not either TW at Rowsley, nice lads and used by a lot of the locals, or for a VW specialist Volkstek, Callywhite Lane, Dronfield.

That's good to know. I'll tap him up about fitting a Dashcam.

Mark.
I live up the road from this location and I don't recall seeing anything there. Ill have a look next time I pass by and see if he is still around. What do you actually want from him?

I dont think he is about any more, he never had a great reputation for his after sales according to T5 forum

Update
Went to Imperial Commercials in Derby
I booked a sit and wait service (90mins) it took 4 hours !!
VW agreed to change the alloy wheel that is corroding
They messed around with the sliding door that is scratching the rear wheel arch and then said that it was not the door, and since then it seems to have not scratched it, (did they adjust it?)
They have ordered new rubber bump stops for the roof as both have fallen out now, and they did not fill in the service book. So 4 out of 10 marks so far.

As far as I know they don't deal in Calis anymore so are probably not geared up at all for the camper bits. Try Sheffield next time. We have alwsys had good service from them.

What “after sales“ are you referring to ?

I am very much “around” but I am not on the “T5 forum” and I do not sell anything,

You must have Me confused with another “Volks”.

To be clear I only help California owners with technical and electrical issues by appointment only.

If you need my help, please feel free to message Me.

Many thanks Mark (Volksvans)

Hello I have just been reading this post about Mark at Volksvans and have been struggling to find his contact details online, can you point me in the right direction please.

Regards
Mark
Hi, feel free to message me here or search “Volksvans” on Facebook.

Thanks ;)
