Shop deluxe carpets, am I fitting them correctly?

Hi, have finally got all 3 sections of the deluxe carpets in to the t6 Ocean. Boot section fits well, 3 rail area fits reasonably, but yesterday I fitted the cab carpet and where it meets the living area and it overlaps by about 2-3 cms, which for me is a trip hazard( my left foot doesn’t work as well due to a nasty ankle injury). Does anyone know if this overlap is normal?
