Side door open warning- really annoying!!

Hi All,

I have a 2007 California which has recently developed an infuriating fault: The side door (the kind that you close mostly manually but it finishes the job) is constantly registering open/closed/open/closed etc. This means the dash warning message flashes and beeps every 3 seconds as soon as the vehicle is moving - aaaarghh!!

I've read a post last year by aniesigh ("electric side door catch problem") describing a similar door that thought it was always closed and the diagnosis there was to replace a PCB behind the rear heater.

Has anyone ever had a similar problem to me and if so what did you do? Or, if the PCB is the likely candidate, exactly where is it?
