Hi all

Just back from our first long road trip - a month in Europe (Netherlands/Belgium/Germany/Austria/Italy/France). We're relatively new to the California world (Oct 2022 Ocean 204 4M DSG) so there may be nothing here for old hands but here are some of the accessories we found really useful on our first mega trip:

Spacemate drawer - I've commented on this before, but we think it's fantastic and makes the boot space so much easier to use when the shelf is loaded up. https://www.spacematedirect.com/en/vw-california-ocean-rear-storage

Cysgod Side panels - great quality and very quick and easy to use https://cysgodawningshades.co.uk/

Dimplex mini heater - only works with EHU but it's tiny and at 250w doesn't need much power. It made a real difference at night in the Alps and meant we didn't use the diesel heater at all. https://www.glendimplexireland.com/en-ie/dimplex-250w-desk-friend-ceramic-heater#x-058553

JBL GO3 Bluetooth speaker - great sound for the size - not much bigger than a pack of cards and hangs on the hook behind the passenger seat. https://www.currys.co.uk/products/jbl-go3-portable-bluetooth-speaker-blue-10223604.html

Colapz Shower/Toilet tent - quite expensive but so easy to put up/down compared to the cheap versions. It also provides loads of day time storage when you drive away.
Colapz Water carrier - great to use on its own and really handy for topping up the fresh water tank.

Dock & Bay towels - yes they're not cheap (although lots of offers/voucher codes help) but they take up no room, they work and they dry as quickly as they claim.

Decathalon Quecha Cotton Sleeping bags - much more comfortable than our old polyester ones when it got hotter.

Finally,, shortly after we got off the ferry on day one in the Netherlands, an engine warning light came! By chance we were within 30 mins of the VW Campercentrum in Amersfoort. It was a wet Friday afternoon about 3pm and their service area was packed with Cali's so I didn't hold out much hope of getting it sorted that day. However, 2 hours later we were back on our way, after they replaced the Adblue sensor and updated some software (all foc under the warranty). Couldn't praise them enough! They also have a good accessory shop on site.

Hope this is of help to another novice!
