Spare glasses!!!

Hi

I ordered some new glasses yesterday at my local Specsavers, 2 -1 deal, I mentioned that I was off to France for four weeks in May and that it would be a sensible idea to carry a spare pair, incase of losing or breaking a pair, she said she thought it was a requirement in France that you carry a spare pair, I can't find any evidence of this! perhaps another sales technique by them, anyone else heard of this.

It certainly used to be mandatory in Spain to carry a spare pair, but not sure if that holds any longer or not. Never heard of it for France.
