Stuck glovebox

Any ideas ? my glove box will not open ,if I lift the handle it just stays up and wont go back down unless I use the key to unlock and then put the handle back down but will not open ?

I assume you've pushed the glove box down a few times to make sure the catch re engages?
Perhaps the catch has broken I reckon it would be pretty easy to force open but would probably damage it if you did.

I think I had better have a trip to the dealers tomorrow,I have tried to push down on it to reengage but no joy

Hey thanks freely I have just managed to open it by pushing down on it (well thumping it really )and it has just opened
