Next winter we are planning on "doing the alps" for a few weeks skiing, so have been on the look out for some 17s with all season boots (ideally brand new with delivery mileage).

Picked a set up the other week 215x60 R17C with conti all seasons.

Finally (after much faffing the other weekend) managed to get the 18" black sport wheels off (OMG were they stuck on the hub!), so went back this weekend to swap them over for the 17s.

Have to say really quite impressed with the difference in the ride, was expecting something quite harsh but turned out to be nice and smooth, probably better comfort than the 18s.

Set the pressures at 3.6 / 3.7 bar all round, seems ok. Given we are off to spain in a couple of months, am contemplating leaving them on as we're off up into the picos de europa.

TBH, I’m not surprised at all. Deeper sidewalls means a more forgiving suspension rather than short stiff sidewalls of 18” tyres. Lower pressure helps too.
The wheels & tyres will probably be lighter, so reducing unsprung mass and rotational mass. This can impact steering, suspension, acceleration and braking.
