Túnel de Somport help please.

Our ferry from Spain to UK has now been cancelled so our plan is to drive to Pau via the Túnel de Somport. This is based on the possible availability of hotels in France and shortness of route. Does anyone know how to find out out possible closures of the tunnel? It was open yesterday but looks closed today. Google says open and Michelin maps says closed. We would like to be sure if it is open on the day we plan to use it before we book the Eurotunnel and French hotels.

Try the Bielsa Tunnel. We use it a lot and it will probably be open now. Google it first and check.

Thanks but that one is definitely closed due to virus restrictions closing the border. We have used that in the past too, nice views. Information we have found related to trucks drivers complaining that they could not use it and had to use other routes. Somport is the alternative but we got a bit worried when we saw that was blocked too, hopefully only for weekend. Getting up to date info is very difficult. Somport is usually open all year but some of the roads from Spain to France are closed as basically borders are closed and being manned by border control.
