T5 crash test 2013.

Very interesting like the way they test the ESC system, don't think I got the bottle to try and see if mine is working, will have to trust it does work if its needed

The tests aren't normally done on the open road! They're done at a venue such as this http://www.prodrive.com/level3.html?id=36 there is a huge runway that has been converted for the purpose and the lanes will typically be coned off to give the engineers a guide. Typically, they start off slow and build up confidence/speed. Although whilst I worked there, there were a couple of chaps that already had lots of confidence (which did occasionally get knocked out of them!)

For an idea of scale, this was also the venue of the McRae gathering rally (mine was the red one on the left in the first "O") http://xo.typepad.com/blog/2008/09/almost-1100-subarus-honoured-colin-mcrae.html

Love this forum so much information, a few years ago had a day rally driving in a Subaru somewhere in Northamptonshire scared the pants off me :shocked

Hi,

Quite a good result for kids in the back and probably the main reason I own a beach instead of a motorhome.

As this was for a T5, and not a Cali or Caravelle, I assume the child tests were for a 3 year old in a child seat on the front seat - it doesn't really say, but it does talk about disabling the front passenger airbag.

Although I do agree that one of the main reasons I bought a Cali over a T5 conversion was the proper back seat :)
