Anyone know if it is ok to leave the vehicle in park on a slight incline without the handbrake ?
Only asking this as although the vehicle is daily runner it’s not necessarily used every day, just a bit aware that the handbrake could stick on being discs on the rear. Noticed that it takes a little effort to select Drive after parking in this manor and is it going to do some damage or cause premature wear to the gearbox.

Thanks
Nick.

Hi the handbrake should always be applied the pawl that engages park is not designed to hold the weight of the vehicle for a prolonged period and will cause premature wear and possible failure if used to permanently hold the vehicle.

Interesting points.
Have wondered about releasing handbrake to turn seats when on levelling ramps.
I actually chock a wheel before so doing. Is this over kill or even necessary?

Thought something like that may be the case, is it possible to leave them in gear, not tried or even thought about that one, thanks for the info...

Oops
I’ve been leaving mine in P with no handbrake.
Unless camping.

Better start pulling that lever again :(
