T6 California now on German VW website

The interior furniture looks identical to the T5.

Also, same colours. No sign of the hoped for two tone option either...

If you download the brochure the colours look different to me. There is a light blue and a turquoise-green that look new. But my wife swears I can't tell blue from green properly so perhaps it's me...

Definitely seems to have the adaptive cruise control and adaptive suspension features.

The interior wood looks slightly darker to me. I can't spot anything new California wise apart from the little black switch on the right hand side on the right quarter trim I wonder what that is? Everything else appears to be the same, flap on the left is the shower which same as mine.

Nice to see a new choice of upholstery, hopefully it's not the same awful material they currently use

The light blue and green do look like new colours ?

I recently posted on the beach forum about a recent T5 order. Basically order 2 weeks ago and still haven't had order confirmed. Thinking I should cancel and go T6!! Was hoping for the T5 soon but looks like it might take some time.

I need a beach and defo need DSG anyone think there is a danger DSG might not be available on the new beach? and 75kw wouldn't be enough either would want the 110kw.

Audi and VW love messing about with engine/transmission options so you can't get what you want!! Decisions.....

Don't forget, that brochure is for Germany, there is a good chance the UK will end up with not all the same options.

I'm learning German quickly today :D

Love my Cali, but looks like little done to address its flaws in the T6 Cali. Wardrobes and cupboards just don't work in a van that size. No worktop space. Same grey interior and standard cloth interior on a £50k van is just not good enough. Hopefully they got rid of the handbrake.

Looks more like beige than grey to me...:mute

Have just been told by our VW dealer that the order book for the T5 is now closed so the second hand price for a T5 is going to be very good....... For the seller

Can't see any options for DSG and 4motion in configurator...

Again, VW have missed another opportunity.
When you look at the merc marko polo, they have obviously taken the Cali blue print and improved it. You would have thought that VW would have seen that and acted upon that, ie copied it!.
The air bolsters on the rear bench would have been a great addition to the comfort of rear travelling passengers.
It's sad to say that the Cali is no longer class leader.

It would be interesting to know if VW had contacted any Cali owners during the consultation period for the new/old van?

VW have been lazy and rested on their laurels in my opinion

It's because the T6 is not really new, just a facelift. so just re-use the same interior and eek out the profits without further investment for as long as possible. As its a VW Camper it will always sell itself anyway. I'm pleased in a way as the uninitiated will find it hard to tell the difference between the T6 and T5.1.
Sounds like the T7 when it comes will be all new, so hopefully that will be worth waiting for:D

Not so sure. Definitely looks more luxurious, but it doesn't have the folding chairs in the tailgate nor the table in the sliding door; which means these have to live in the boot taking all the space up. And the gas in the water tank idea - have Merc copied this?

The interior wood looks slightly darker to me

I've been looking at the details and configurator on the German site. It seems there is 'white wood' on the Beach equivalent and 'dark wood' on the SE equivalent. Not sure about the one in the middle.

None of them seem to have the diesel Parking Heater, even as an option.

Hi, California (T5) owner from New Zealand. Couldn't be happier with our T5. Nothing in the T6 to tempt me. VW has always done it for me so don't even need to look at Merc. VW are the pioneers and have gone on to produce the California which is the pinnacle of compact motorhomes.

I think it looks bloody good.
Yes improvements could have been made but when the Cali is already so successful why would they change it. It's a proven product.
The California is a much better built van in general over the Merc so it will stand the test of time.
Let's see how many Merc vans are still around in 10-15 years. Not many ill doubt as they all rust out.

So much negativity on her at times( just saying)
