T7 Ocean: Mattress

Thank you so much for the update @sticky1! I’m getting really excited now, after your review. Can I ask you why you went for the freshtec option? And how many centimetres is yours? I know I’m asking a lot, but do you by any chance also have a picture when it is folded up? Thank you again for the update! Kind regards from the Netherlands!
Hi Freshtec is 5cm, it was described as the coolest memory foam. The reality is that it feels quite textured, on your hand, not when lying.
The reason was I’d try the thickest and then come down if it wasn’t for me.
I’ll take a photo when it is in the bag on the rear shelf. I’m sure you could find a vacuum bag to shrink it down, that’s what I do with the duvets I use.

Folded on top of the VW mattress it isn’t visible in the rear view mirror.
I have also added a photo of it rolled up and in front of the VW mattress but behind the rear seats.

Comfy !
Nice and tidy that is.

I have got a porta potti and it does fit but in an emergency I use a TravelJohn, they are so easy and small. I have a collapsible bag loo just in case.…..
The Portapotti is awkward but doable if you’ll pardon the pun. I’ll try and take a photo for you.
Over the 10 yrs we had the California we just used Travel John/ Jane and a Bog in a Bag. No chemicals, no emptying and minimal storage requirements.

Great info in topper.
We are in the throws of purchasing a T7 ocean. Can i ask What are your overall thoughts on the T7.
Thank you
I’ve been very pleased. I had a T6 California and various larger campervans and wanted to downsize for the pair of us now our children are grown up.
With larger vans we struggled getting into city centres and parking needed planning, so wanted something smaller.
I toyed with getting a T6.1 but it felt too similar to the T6 and I wanted something different. We looked at the Marco Polo but when you spec that up, it’s pretty expensive and frankly it is an after market conversion even if it has MB warranty.
I had a VW T2 bay window camper in my 20’s and absolutely loved it, it was small and you really had to think about what you packed and what you needed to take and the T7 is somewhat similar, it is after all a mini van.
I find it great to drive, I have done a four hour non stop drive in heavy traffic and skipped out at the end feeling fine, there are very few vehicles that would be true of.
It has loads of clever tech, it has USB C everywhere, the LED lighting is clever and exactly where you need it, I personally like having a door on the left and access to the fridge from the outside.
Sleeping ’downstairs’ is like sleeping two up on a single bed but so far we only use that if the weather means I don’t want to raise the pop top, I think there’s 10cm difference from the T6 so not really noticeable. I prefer sleeping in the bunk, I sleep like a baby up there.
It’s a compromise compared to even slightly bigger vans, but if you can cope with that I think you’ll love it.

Thank you for this - our final decision day is today.! ! !

Whilst viewing the T7 Ocean, we tried out use of two small tables as an alternative to having the large table inside. So have ordered additional one. IMG-20250703-WA0002.jpg
