How long does it stay useable before needing to be changed if not physically used.

Question for users. Is it ok to fill the potti with the base and flush chemicals and then store in the van. How long does it stay useable before needing to be changed if not physically used. I know it says empty every 2-3 days when in use but wondered if it lasts longer if not pooped in

I find it 'lasts' fine between trips. I empty and replenish the tank on return from a trip then keep the unit in the van with fresh water/chemicals in it until the next run out.

In theory I should of course protect it from frost but so far it's not come to any harm keeping it in the van over winter, although we do live in the south of England. I suspect the chemicals lower the freezing point at least a bit, but even so if it froze I'm guessing it wouldn't necessarily damage the unit.
