Hi,

Has anyone fitted the Thule G2 Rain Blocker sides and front to their T6? If so has anyone got any instructions or tips as the Thule instructions are useless!
It looks like I need to fit some bits to the awning so I can attach the poles for the sides!

Thanks

JP

There is one bit with a bolt in it which one end of the pole goes into and there is the same part already in place at the drivers door (I think, it has been a while since I fitted mine). This in on the fixed side of the awning. On the wind out side, there are 2 plastic parts to fit which have half cups where the ends on the pole sit. These have to be screwed in and needs a very small pilot hole. The pokes themselves are spring loaded so you can wind them out for a tighter fit.
Hope that helps but if you want photos, let me know.

You can use a decent double sided adhesive pad instead of a screw for the plastic cups (its similar to the thule rafter awning, poor instuctions + head scratching!)

I did wonder if I could do that. I’ve got some really good 3M tape so I’ll give that a go first

Hello, I've just bought the same (Thule Rain Blocker G2) from the CAMC show a couple of weeks ago and am wondering if I've made a mistake! You need a Masters degree to follow the instructions and I have more bits and pieces than a jigsaw! I really don't want to make a hole in the awning to fit the pole of the rain blocker but am worried that putting an adhesive pad on the awning pole might prevent the awning from being wound in or risk it getting fouled. Scott, if you have any photographs that you could share that would be helpful. I'll also check the Thule website to see if they have a clip showing how it should be fitted.

Hi Beryl, I will try and get some tomorrow if I remember. The awning just needs 2 self tapping screws to hold the plastic cups.

Hi Beryl
These show the metal part which slots into the fixed part of the awning. The top photo shows the cup which is screwed into the other side. There are 2 cups required-one for each side. The front support pole runs from the additional clamp installed to the cup and the rear one uses the existing clamp. Hope this helps
