Tour De France mountain stage

Hi everyone going on the tour with van to watch the mountain stage La planche des belles filles. Has anyone done this stage or a mountain stage and what is the camping etiquette any advice gratefully received

Have you been out and followed the TdF before dave50?

Great occasion and the mountains are where it's at its best. Get the spot you want well in advance (days?) and wait. Some stages can be quiet on ordinary bits but the mountains are busy. Alpe d'heuz was bonkers. If you're cycling up them as well good luck. They do make it look a bit easier than it is in real life.
