Hi folks I was just looking for recommendations please. Heading to France (Portsmouth to St Malo) in California Ocean hoping to catch Stage 7 of the Tour St Malo to Guerledan then heading down the West coast into Northern Spain returning Santander to Plymouth.

I've sort of thinking La Rochelle, Bordeaux in France then San Sebastian in Spain.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Île de Ré.............Camping Huttopia Chardons Bleus. Just over the bridge from La Rochelle

So many nice places down that coast, the cities are lovely but a bit tricky to visit in a Cali, you kinda have to find places to stay on the outskirts and use public transport to get in or chance some very tight car parks in the centres.

Ile de noirmoutier, there’s a Huttopia right on the beach and a walk / cycle to the town. We saw very few English people there which we consider a bonus. Royan ferry into the Gironde get’s you further south avoiding Bordeaux.

Thanks very much for the quick replies, some good pointers, much appreciated

Just stayed in WeCamp San Sebastián. Decent site although a bit expensive at €40 a night. It’s up in the hills to the West of the town but the great thing about the site is that it’s the last stop on the 16 bus route which is only €1.85 into the city centre, runs every 20 minutes and takes 30 minutes. San Sebastián is a wonderful city if you’ve not been before.

That's where we'll be next Saturday.
