Hi Folks,

I have a California that is around 15 months old. I was wondering whether to underseal or Waxoil it. Has anyone done anything like this to their van?
Not to sure if newer vans really need this sort of thing done or not.
Any thoughts on this greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I asked exactly this when SMG were kind enough to show me around the underside of my van (during a free winter checkup; VERY knowledgeable) the long and short of it is that there is plenty of stuff under there already and that the bits that rust are the bits that either don't matter or are easily replaced as service items. Good enough for me...

Has anyone had any treatment done to prevent rust under their new Cali.

Being in Cornwall mostly coastal with salt air, grit on the roads in winter etc.

I wondered if it was necessary or worthwhile getting some additional sort of treatment done before the vehicle gets mucky on the underside.

We're 300 metres from the sea with direct exposure to sea gales; no issues with our three year old Cali. I do rinse it at least weekly though.

A Defender is a different matter though; I had ours done. It does stink though and it's quite mucky.

Thanks, good to know.
A good rinse now and then will be the order of the day.

Garage is dry and airy so that should help too.

That makes a huge difference; sadly our garage isn't high enough!
