If it was the same garage that diagnosed the leak was due to the water pump then they, morally, should offer a Discount for their initial failure.

decided to keep new pump as old one was showing signs of deterioration . ie seals at water end were becoming hard and brittle. Not bad as the pump was the original at 18yrs old.
I have been offered a discount on the labour.

After 8 weeks van back on road after head gasket replaced ( four week wait from Vw) plus other parts replaced on cyc. head. And head skimmed, new injectors etc etc. Big hole in bank account.

Ouch. Big job. Lots of pennies.

I seem to be having a similar problem with my T5.1 2014 plate, I have had the water pump and cam belt replaced as soon as I brought it, but notice it was losing coolant every 1000 miles or so, had a test done which confirmed a blown head gasket , all replaced now, but still losing coolant at a now faster rate with no obvious signs of a leak anywhere. God know what’s going on with it,
