Use the 5th seat to replace drivers seat

Has anyone ever tried to use the 5th seat to replace a worn out drivers seat?

I have black leather seats and wondered if when the time comes if I could simply swap the unused 5th seat.
Obviously the bases are different and there's no heating elements built into the 5th seat, but else what would prevent me from doing this?

I might be totally wrong but having sat in the 5th seat and the drivers I think they are a different size.
The 5th one won't have airbags, seatbelt warning sensor etc

They might look the same but are different in construction.
E.g.: Air Bags, Seat belt anchorage points and as has been mentioned , Sensors.
