What is the difference in VED. It is not that clear of the .gov website and Parker’s reckon some are £240, £265 and £465. I would like to steer away from the £465. Thinking f 2016-2018 model so TSi a possibility, but both the 180 and 204 look like £465? Any advice of the best to choose for cheaper VED?

For the diesels, I think the high rate started about May 2017. Others will confirm.

As for the petrol models, I don't know but instinct would say they'd be expensive to tax. If they came after the cut off date above, they will be in the high band which was related to the list price (over £40k) rather than the emissions.

My Ocean was registered in late 2016, 150 hp DSG, tax paid last November was £200. Big change came in April 2017.
