Déjà vu, almost exact same parking spot as last year.

Looks great. La Daille?
Stealth or official campervan parking.
How do your electrics hold up?

We were there a few years ago and it ended up -20 in the village and a frozen engine (even with mountian diesel and additive!)

La Daille, yes.
Stealth, no-one seems to mind anyway.

Batteries were at 100% after driving down from Calais. 80% now, am on my third night. Fridge at level 4 and heater at level 3 at night. Haven't had the inside lights on much. Hopefully, they should last until Friday.

Not too cold, around minus 2 or 3 at night. Was minus 17 last year.

Drove around the car park a few times today to test out the snow tyres, good fun

The majority of courtesy buses and taxis around here seem to be Caravelles, this one wishes it was a California

Most will be 2wd too.
I’m yet to have a transfer in a 4 motion...
Always ask, always told no

I think I stayed at same park4night stop as this last night. Lovely little spot. Quiet and great views to wake to.

Yep looks like it, did you stay in the lay-by, nicer view than the carpark. There’s some great walks up by there (can’t temper the name of the mountain I walked up, it was pretty much straight up through carpark. There’s a few low level loops around there too.
im going back there on the way back from Scotland.

I stayed in the car park as was more sheltered and the lay by had a bit of a slope but I agree, views outstanding from lay-by. I was in the area for a few nights (amazing walks) but my ongoing leisure battery issue cut my journey short ! Booked in with Hereford on the 6th and just spoken to service manager. Seems promising so far so fingers crossed all will be sorted. Enjoy Scotland. :)

Lake Bled in Slovenia for lunch today. Very picturesque but much more commercialised than I expected. We knew the expensive Lake Bled campsite was shut so we’re at Camping Fusina Venice now after a 4 hour drive in thick fog. Looking forward to the view in the morning when it gets light.

We loved it at Camping Fusina Venice when we were there 3 years ago, pitched right by the port entrance. Great to watch all the ships coming and going just the other side of the camp railings. Have a safe trip.

The campsite does honour the ACSI rate out of the high season and of course when it is open.

Ok not so much a view from my van, but every winter I have a dad and daughter overnight trip to Whitby and we go crabbing. Crikey it was cold yesterday but she still managed a decent haul. Fish and chips at The Magpie and fresh doughnuts kept us fuelled and then an overnight stay at Lound House Farm campsite. Heater on #2 kept us toastie last night as we slept on our self inflating mattress downstairs as the wind howled outside.

Life does not get any better than this!!!

Only a day out unfortunately, a good road trip. Lots of overnight wild camp options though. There seems to be a good campsite in Rhayader too, not open just yet.

Day trip or sneaky wild camp?

I see on the map there's a road around the whole reservoir.....may be a nice drive.
It is a lovely area and a lovely drive, we have done it many times by car and by bike. You can start at the visitor centre with a nice coffee. Lovely walks as well from the visitor centre or from many of the dams on route.

Despite what the VW satnav was saying, Simplon Pass was open yesterday from Italy to Switzerland. Quite windy and drifting white outs near the top at 2005m but didn’t need chains. Then onto the lovely Camping Jungfrau at Lauterbrunnen via the Lötschberg Motorail Tunnel. Trip up the mountain on the train today to see the awesome North Face of Eiger.
