I wonder if anyone can shed any light on the problem I’ve encountered today when using the Volkswagen app.
Since October it has been working fine, locking and unlocking the van whilst camping, checking its locked, using the digital owner manual on it and fuel consumption/miles remaining info.

Today, the app isn’t working and it shows all the doors, bonnet and boot are open and the fuel remaining and miles available haven’t changed.

I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but it’s still not working. It’s saved me some hassle as my mate unlocked the boot and threw his bag in the boot (with my keys in the bag). The doors were locked but I was able to unlock the Big Blue Bus and retrieve them. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Has the subscription to use the app advanced features lapsed?
 
As far as I can see it’s free. There’s no mention of cost when downloading it and it doesn’t mention any ‘in app’ purchases either.

IF the subscription is lapsed you renew online, not via the app directly. In the app click on settings/service packages and you will be taken to an online logon to your VW service account.
 
Thank you both. The app shows my We Connect Plus is active till 9/26.
There’s an 0800 number so I’ll give them a call and see what they say.
 
Apparently there has been an outage of the system in Europe, which includes the UK, causing the app to show the error I have.

The Digital Services Team, who were very helpful are looking in to it for me.

Must be very specific as my VW app has worked perfectly all day.

Agreed, my friends T-Roc in Birmingham has also had issues today.
I tried it again a short while ago and now the lock/unlock function seems to have disappeared?!

Had an email from VW today confirming my app should now be working if I just log out of it - and log back in. I was sceptical as I’d tried this over the weekend, however I did it again and it is now working and synchronised :thumb :)
