VW Breeze Poole,Southampton & Portsmouth. Which one ?

Cali now sold
Our Cali Ocean is due its first MOT/SERVICE/RECALL for elevating roof( check/tape) soon.

Anyone with recent experience of any of the above dealers ? Have checked the dealers review thread.

Have phoned the service department ,seems to be centrally controlled for all 3 dealers. Can have a free courtesy car ( not a cali,which is fine) but will need to pay daily amount( £12.50) for insurance cover. They suggested checking my own insurance for cover. They will need the Cali for 2 days.

Will be travelling from Dartmoor but can stay with relatives in the area.

I think the Portsmouth branch is not particularly California focused, but from posts on this site the Poole and Southampton seem highly rated. Totton, the Southampton branch is handy for the M27.
 
Poole is the official Leisure Vehicle dealer whereas both Totton and Portsmouth are just commercial vehicle dealers.

All centres will be fine for the vans side of the work. I had Totton replace the cambelt and waterpump and also replaced the O/S drive shaft back in 2015. The work was done well, on time and I had a posh Caddy as a loan vehicle.

As Poole is the Cali specialist, that's the site to go to for any work on that side of the vehicle.

The Vlogers A Bus and Beyond (Sean and Lizzie) took their van in to Portsmouth for a service and recall and were very happy with the result.

Personally, as the recall is for the roof tape, I would go be inclined to use Poole, and it is slightly closer to you.

The loan car insurance charge is not uncommon, but often your own insurance will cover you. If it does, just have the policy/certificate with you for the garage to check.

I used Poole my first service found them very helpful and friendly.
Phoned back when they said they would, which is a rare experience for me from a VW dealer.
Made a superb job of cleaning the Cali both inside and outside after it was delivered to them in a very dirty state (I don't usually take my vehicles in for work dirty, but we were midway during a holiday, and conditions had been very wet and muddy)
Only downside was that I had a nail in the tyre which they said needed a replacement tyre, which at the time they couldn't get one to match anyway, but to me it was a straightforward repair job, so I went along that route instead. I honestly think it didn't warrant a new tyre, but others may have a different view about having a repaired tyre on their vehicle.
I should definitely try to use them in the future, but it's quite a long way from Watford and the logistics might not always make that possible.

Think we will try Poole & drop off our Cali on our way to our relatives in Denmead.
Seems crazy when Portsmouth Breeze is only 9 minutes away.

Feel happier taking to leisure specialist dealership . Had seen Sean & Lizzie video on collection from Portsmouth. Just not so many positive reviews for Portsmouth compared to Poole & Southampton.

Will report back after service/MOT/roof recall.
We did take the 5 yr warranty when we bought Grace . So aim to keep the Cali for now.
 
Just back from collecting our Cali from Breeze Poole.
Booked for MOT/service/roof recall/retro fit apple connect/ interior light fix & investigation of excessive noise when closing the roof .
The whole experience was friendly and professional from start to finish, such a contrast to the other supposed Cali ‘specialists’ of our experience. No talking up of their own expertise, no flanneling or false promises, and a genuine eagerness to please, not to mention two video updates of progress, all very reassuring.
One example of going the extra mile was looking at a noise from the hydraulic pump after the roof closes down, louder than the usual noise . Our last garage had replaced the hydraulic pump after the roof began to lift and close lopsidedly, and said the noise was normal. In fact it was because of insufficient fluid in the system, it had not been done properly, but the fluid is expensive. Breeze bled the system and replaced the deficient fluid at no charge as a gesture of goodwill as it was not covered by warranty. They even asked if we wanted to tuck away our dogs dinner of dash cam cable since the head lining had to come down. (No charge).
Our expectations for Breeze were already high but they have been well and truly exceeded. It’s good to find good old fashioned excellent teamwork and customer service still exists and is appreciated.
The Cali has been cleaned inside & out. It was immaculate.

Although a new owner I have dealt with all the departments mentioned above and can’t agree more. Having had other German brands they would seem to learn from the Breeze Poole experience.

I am glad they have come up trumps after singing their praises.
Although we have moved away from the south coast now, while we lived down there our experience of the Breeze dealership was always good.

We have just had our California serviced, plus cam belt, water pump, air con service, mot and roof corrosion tape applied (thankfully no corrosion) at Breeze Totton and found them to be efficient and courteous. Can completely recommend. Happy camping all!
