VW California stopping production

I am not sure if any of you read in the Telegraph today but they are stopping production of the VW California due to poor sales, I have also had this information confirmed by one of our close VW contacts, the last Cali to come off the production line will be in May.

This is a very sad day for all us lovers of the VW California. :sad

Spoke to VW head office this week and was told it isn't the case, but the lead time for new factory orders is now up to 16/17 weeks as they're concentrating on the van version at the expense of the Cali and Caravelle - for the moment. Imagine the report in the paper was a case of putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5, or maybe even a typical journalistic 'shock horror' tale.
