Couldn't the engineers also tweak the T7 to increase the payload?Nice dig at Westfalia. So the much taunted Nuggetfornia is dead it seems. Not sure this is great news to be honest. The Multivan appears to be a more compromised platform. I assume a Cali variant will be built on the LWB chassis which has a payload of only 881kg vs 1300kg for the T6.1 Transporter. The engineers are going to have a tricky job shoe horning a genuine Cali interior into that platform.
Viva California.
There is a whole homologation process and they are fiendishly expensive. The Cali is really a niche product so not really worthwhile financially. Guess we will see what VW bring to the table next month.Couldn't the engineers also tweak the T7 to increase the payload?
Exactly. I don't see revolution or evolution for that matter. And we are yet to hear how the engineers have tweaked the MBQ chassis for a greater payload at least comparable to the T6.1 Transporter. Next month will be fascinating.Looks like the current multivan with a poptop on it. So remains a 1 - 2 person van at best IMHO.
