VW seat covers - tight fit

These covers are a standard VW part and came with the Cali when I bought it.
There is a cover for the 5th seat and there are covers for armrests and headrests.
All fit really well except the rear seat part.
I feel that I will tear the cover if I force it on. It is extremely tight and won't go on.
Is there a knack to this and have other people experienced this?
Any help will be gratefully received.

Yes, they do go on, seem a bit tight but ok. However, they are even tighter once you make it into a bed - if you are going to do that with them on, so I 'loosened' them a bit around the top, tho was still a little tight with the headrest down and seats flat. Been okay though and used (up/down) twice so far.
