warning ebay matt black side bars

hi all.
just a heads up if anyone is in the market for buying matt black side bars off ebay from a certain vw parts seller. I purchased some in october 2013 and the powder coating has cracked, flaked off and rusted all over. More so in the areas where you cant see the bars surface.
Very low mileage on my cali and no off roading. They look like they could have been sat on there for ten years. Emailed ( sent pics) the company 3 times but no response. Purchased some new chrome ones in the end. So be wary of any ropey powder coated bars.

On our wish list, some black bars. Can you let us know who to avoid buying off?
If anyone on here has the VW black genuine bars, how are you getting on with them?

Pm me and i will let you know whom i bought mine from if your interested. If i was ever to go for black ones i would go for VW next time.

I've observed quite a few genuine VW ones that have gone rusty on the brackets esp the polished ones

If you have bars fit the front mud flaps to stand half a chance
