Warning lights & loss of power driving in France

we are a few days in on our two week road trip along the west coast of France … the orange engine light came on a day or two but no loss of power etc so we carried on.

Today the abs and skid lights both came on. Went off. Came on etc … then some loss of power. Got to our campsite in fourth gear, 2000 revs, 50mph.

Question is do I call the RAC and get someone out? Or get myself to a local vw garage ? We are close to Nantes if that makes any difference to the advice.
