Hello everyone. I have an ocean t6.1 and I wanted to ask you if you have ever had problems with water infiltration from the roof tent. I have it and Volkswagen told me that it's normal.

Use search. Magnifying glass top right. Well known and discussed issue.

What you need to ask yourself is if you bought a €2000 euro tent and had water in it, would you say it was normal?

As @dspuk says, hit that magnifying glass and type in LEAKING POP TOP in the "keywords" section...
But do it when you have a spare few hours!!

That's what I told the dealer. 'In a 50 euro Decathlon tent, water doesn't get in and you tell me it's normal.'

It's already the second one they are replacing for me. But they don't want to change this one because they say it's the new modified model and it's normal for a little water to come in ........normal a ......

Have a read of those posts - it'll point you in the right direction - you can also point your delaer in the right direction to them too

If you just want to skip to the reason your dealer won't replace jump to the post below from @calibusje - It also seems to be saying "get it wet, the wet will expand the threads and make it watertight". I'm not saying that is fact, but it sounds reasonable to try.

"What else did we hear: Volkswagen will no longer automatically replace your tent cloth if -this applies to the double-walled- water gets in through the seams. The first double-walled cloths were stitched with thread with too much nylon and too little cotton. These did not absorb enough water and did not get thicker/stay thicker. The thickening made them waterproof. That's how a tent works (with cotton). The later generations of tent cloths are stitched with thread with more cotton and therefore make your bellows waterproof. Yet, let it get wet 4-5 times (rain or water hose) and it should be -more- waterproof."

This was the main thread on the whole issue
